🍂 Autumn 2026 · Updated 16 September

Steak & Stilton is finally back, pumpkin spice has had a salted-caramel glow-up, and there’s buffalo chicken in two different formats. Here’s the whole lot — what it costs, what’s in it, and what you’ll actually pay depending on which shop you walk into.

The short version

Greggs’ autumn menu landed on 3 September 2026 — eleven new and returning items. The headline is the Steak & Stilton Bake, back after roughly seven years, at £2.50 and 465 calories. Pumpkin Spice Latte returns with a salted caramel drizzle from £2.85. There’s buffalo chicken in baguette and pizza-slice form, a Chicken & Pepperoni Toastie, a Bonfire Toffee Muffin and three new iced drinks. Most items are nationwide; iced drinks need a shop with an ice machine.

I’d stopped expecting the Steak & Stilton to come back, if I’m honest. It’s been off the menu for around seven years, and every time someone asked about it online, nothing happened. Then Greggs announced it in August and the replies went a bit feral. Fair enough, really.

The autumn range went live on Thursday 3 September 2026, so it’s been on the counter a fortnight or so now. Eleven things in total — some genuinely new, some returning. I’ve pulled together every price and calorie count below, cross-checked against the trade coverage rather than guessed at, plus the bit most write-ups skip entirely: what each item costs depending on which type of Greggs you walk into. A Steak & Stilton at Gatwick is not a Steak & Stilton in Gateshead, price-wise.

🇬🇧 One thing to get straight first: every price Greggs publishes is a “from” price. That’s the standard high-street figure. City-centre, London and airport branches all charge more, and the gaps are bigger than most people assume — there’s a full breakdown in the store-type table below.

🥩 The Steak & Stilton Bake: the one everyone actually wanted

This is the headline and Greggs knows it. The new bake is diced beef in a rich gravy with blue Stilton and grilled onions, wrapped in glazed puff pastry and finished with a black pepper crumb on top. It’s £2.50 and 465 calories.

Two things worth flagging. First, that black pepper crumb is new — this isn’t the old recipe reheated, it’s been rebuilt as a bake rather than the pastie some people remember. Second, at 465 calories it sits meaningfully above a standard Steak Bake, which makes sense given the cheese. If you’ve been picturing a straight swap for your usual, it’s a slightly heavier lunch than you’re used to.

Greggs says it developed the product in response to years of customer requests. That’s the sort of line brands trot out all the time — except here the receipts are all over social media going back the best part of a decade.

🧀 Worth knowing: Stilton is a strong blue cheese and it does come through. If you’re someone who finds blue cheese too much in small doses, this won’t convert you. The gravy softens it, but it’s still very much there.

🌶️ The buffalo chicken two: baguette and pizza slice

Buffalo sauce is having a proper moment on the UK high street, and Greggs has gone in with two items rather than one.

New

Buffalo Chicken Baguette

Buffalo-style chicken mayonnaise with mature Cheddar and red onion in a freshly baked baguette. The priciest single item on the autumn range.

From £4.10506 kcal
New

Buffalo Pizza Slice

The focaccia-style base with cheese, pizza sauce, buffalo-style chicken mayo and red onion. Also sold in multipacks for sharing.

From £2.70673 kcal
New

Buffalo Pizza multipacks

Two slices £5.75, four from £8.95, six from £10.95. The six-box works out cheapest per slice if you’re feeding a group.

£5.75 – £10.95Per box

The pizza slice is the one to be aware of. At 673 calories a slice it’s the single biggest item on the entire autumn menu, comfortably ahead of the Steak & Stilton. That’s roughly a third of the daily intake the NHS uses as a rough guide for an average adult woman, in one slice, before you’ve added a drink. Not a reason to avoid it — just worth going in with your eyes open. The rest of the range sits in our Greggs pizza menu guide.

On heat: “buffalo-style” here means tangy rather than punishing. If you’ve had the Firecracker range you’ll find this noticeably milder. It’s more vinegar-and-butter than chilli burn.

🧀 Chicken & Pepperoni Toastie

Chicken in a pizza-style sauce with mature Cheddar and pepperoni, between slices of sourdough-style white bread, then topped with béchamel and grated mixed cheese and baked in shop. From £3.80, 572 calories.

It’s essentially a pizza that’s decided to be a sandwich. The béchamel on the outside is the interesting bit — that’s what gives you the browned, slightly crisp top rather than a flat grilled finish. This is what I’d point at if you want something hot and filling on a cold day and the bakes feel too small for the job.

☕ Pumpkin spice is back — plus three new iced drinks

The Pumpkin Spice Latte returns from £2.85 (214 kcal), and this year it’s finished with a salted caramel drizzle over the cream. Same base as before: freshly ground Fairtrade coffee, semi-skimmed milk, pumpkin spice flavour syrup.

The Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte is back too, from £3.35 (190 kcal) — and yes, the iced one is fewer calories than the hot one, which catches people out every single year. Less milk, more ice.

Alongside those, three new chilled drinks have joined the permanent range rather than the seasonal one:

New

Iced Caramel Chocolate

Fairtrade cocoa and semi-skimmed milk with a salted caramel flavour drizzle. The priciest drink here.

From £3.45220 kcal
New

Iced Mocha

Fairtrade coffee blended with cocoa and milk over ice. The cheapest coffee-based option on the autumn list.

From £2.85162 kcal
New

Iced Chocolate

Straightforward Fairtrade cocoa and semi-skimmed milk. No coffee in it, so it’s the one for kids.

From £2.85161 kcal
🧊 The iced drinks catch: every iced option here only exists in shops fitted with an ice machine. That rules out a lot of smaller kiosks, Greggs Express units inside petrol forecourts and some transport-hub sites. Check the app before you make a special trip — there’s more on which shops carry what in our Bitesize vs Express vs full-size store guide.

To see how the autumn drinks sit against the rest of the range, the full list with prices is in the Greggs coffee menu prices 2026 guide.

🧁 Bonfire Toffee Muffin and the Pumpkin Spice Doughnut

The Bonfire Toffee Muffin is the genuinely new sweet item: toffee pieces through the sponge, a burnt-toffee-flavoured filling in the middle, then chocolate and salted caramel flavour icing on top with a toffee butter crunch. From £1.65, 363 calories.

Naming it after bonfire toffee is a nice touch. That dark, slightly bitter treacle flavour is a proper British autumn reference rather than an imported American one, and the burnt note in the filling does actually land.

The Pumpkin Spice Doughnut is back as well, from £1.50 (310 kcal), with spiced pumpkin flavour filling, icing and a sugar pearl on top. At £1.50 it’s the cheapest thing on the autumn range and the easiest way to try the season without committing to a £4.10 baguette. More options in the Greggs doughnuts price guide and the wider sweet treats menu.

One of everything comes to £30.10 at standard prices.

💷 What you’ll actually pay, by store type

Here’s the bit nearly every other autumn menu write-up leaves out. Greggs runs three separate price tiers, and which one you get depends on the shop’s rent and running costs rather than what part of the country you’re standing in.

  • Standard — most high-street, retail-park and residential shops. These are the prices Greggs quotes publicly, and the ones in Table 1.
  • City & London — central London plus city-centre branches in places like Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh. Typically 11–19% above standard.
  • Franchise & airport — airports, motorway services and some railway stations, run by partners such as SSP and Moto under a separate agreement. Commonly around a third more, sometimes higher.

Table 2 — Standard prices are the confirmed launch figures. The City/London and Franchise/airport columns are estimates, marked with a tilde, calculated by applying the tier differentials Greggs’ pricing structure is known to use (roughly +13% and +33%) and rounding to the nearest 5p. Individual branches vary — always check the board. Eating in adds 20% VAT on top of every figure shown.

✈️ The airport maths, plainly: a Steak & Stilton Bake, a Pumpkin Spice Latte and a Bonfire Toffee Muffin comes to £7.00 on a standard high street. The same three at an airport franchise is closer to £9.35 — about 34% more for identical food. If you’re at a terminal with a high-street Greggs within walking distance before security, that’s a real saving. 🔥 Calorie comparison: how the autumn range stacks up

Laid out side by side, the spread is wider than you’d think. The savoury items cluster at the heavy end, the drinks sit surprisingly low, and there’s one clear outlier.

Chart 1 — Official calorie figures per item as published at launch. Drinks are for the standard serve size.

Three things jump out. The Buffalo Pizza Slice at 673 kcal is more than four times the Iced Chocolate and 208 calories heavier than the Steak & Stilton — and it’s the item most likely to be bought as a casual add-on rather than a main lunch. The drinks are all under 220, which makes the Pumpkin Spice Latte a far less alarming order than its reputation suggests. And the Bonfire Toffee Muffin at 363 is heavier than the doughnut by a decent margin, despite feeling like the lighter of the two.

⚖️ Syns, points and tracking the autumn menu

A fair few people ask about this every time a seasonal range lands, so here’s the honest position rather than a table of invented numbers.

Slimming World doesn’t publish official Syn values for high-street chains like Greggs. Every figure you’ll find online — ours included — is a community estimate worked out from published calorie data using the rough 20 kcal ≈ 1 Syn approximation. It’s a reasonable guide for items with no free-food component, and it’s what most members fall back on when the app hasn’t got an exact match. It is not an official number, and you shouldn’t treat it as one.

ItemCaloriesEstimated SynsRealistic call
Buffalo Pizza Slice673 kcal~33.5Well beyond a typical daily allowance on its own
Chicken & Pepperoni Toastie572 kcal~28.5A whole-day decision, not a snack
Buffalo Chicken Baguette506 kcal~25.5Same — plan the rest of the day around it
Steak & Stilton Bake465 kcal~23In line with most Greggs savoury bakes
Bonfire Toffee Muffin363 kcal~18Heavy for a sweet treat
Pumpkin Spice Doughnut310 kcal~15.5The most manageable sweet option
Iced Caramel Chocolate220 kcal~11A full day’s allowance for some members
Pumpkin Spice Latte214 kcal~10.5Ask for no cream to cut it noticeably
Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte190 kcal~9.5The lighter pumpkin spice choice
Iced Mocha162 kcal~8Cheapest and lightest coffee here
Iced Chocolate161 kcal~8Lightest item on the whole range

Table 3 — Unofficial Syn estimates only, calculated as calories ÷ 20 and rounded to the nearest half. Slimming World’s own values account for fat, carbohydrate and protein content rather than calories alone, so check the official app for anything you’re tracking seriously.

📱 On WW points: since WW moved to PersonalPoints, values differ from member to member based on your own plan — which means nobody can give you a single reliable number for a Greggs item, and you should be sceptical of any site that claims to. Use the WW app with the calorie and macro figures. Our Greggs WW points guide explains the approach, and the Slimming World Syns list covers the standing menu.

If you’re after the autumn flavours but not the calories, there isn’t a light option in this range — it’s all fairly indulgent by design. The nearest thing is an Iced Chocolate at 161 kcal. Otherwise, browse Greggs items under 400 calories and build the rest of your order around one seasonal treat.

🗓️ What’s coming next — and when autumn bows out

Greggs doesn’t run autumn as one single block. It comes in stages, and knowing the pattern helps if you’re waiting on something specific.

  1. Thursday 3 September 2026 — done

    The main autumn drop

All eleven items covered above, nationwide — bar the iced drinks, which need a shop with an ice machine.

  2. Mid-October, expected

    The Halloween sweet treats

A separate, smaller drop that usually lands closer to the day itself — historically a pumpkin-shaped chocolate biscuit and a fondant-iced Spooky Bun, sold singly and in packs. Not confirmed for 2026 yet. See our Greggs Halloween menu 2026 page.

  3. Friday 6 November 2026 — confirmed

Festive Bake returns, autumn starts winding down

The Festive Bake and the Vegan Lattice (Festive Edition) land nationwide. Realistically that’s when counter space starts shifting away from the autumn range, so treat early November as your deadline for anything you still want to try. Full details in the Festive Bake 2026 guide and the Christmas menu 2026.

⏳ No official end date. Greggs hasn’t said how long the autumn range runs, and it never really does. Seasonal items also sell out locally long before they’re formally withdrawn — the Steak & Stilton in particular has been shifting quickly in some shops. If it matters to you, don’t leave it until late October.

Worth remembering too that seasonal items don’t always come back. Plenty have quietly vanished over the years — we’ve catalogued them in Greggs menu items that vanished.

💡 How to pay less for the autumn menu

None of these are complicated, but stacked together they knock a fair bit off.

  • New to the app? Your first drink is free. Registering on the Greggs App gets you a free drink of your choice — which covers a £2.85 Pumpkin Spice Latte outright, or the £3.45 Iced Caramel Chocolate if you want to push it.
  • Nine stamps, one free item. Greggs Rewards gives you a free item after nine qualifying purchases within selected categories. If you’re buying a seasonal coffee most mornings, that’s roughly one free every fortnight.
  • Take away rather than eat in. Eating in adds 20% VAT. On a £7 order that’s £1.40 for the privilege of a chair.
  • Use Click + Collect, not delivery. The autumn range is on Just Eat and Uber Eats, but both apply an uplift to menu prices before their fees even start. Click + Collect through the app is at shop prices. Our delivery app comparison has the numbers.
  • Walk out of the terminal if you can. Covered above, but it’s the single biggest saving available here — roughly a third off.
  • Check the deals before you commit. Seasonal items don’t always qualify for meal deals, and speciality drinks usually carry a surcharge. Worth a look at the current meal deals and discounts first.

⭐ My honest verdict on Greggs autumn 2026

This is a stronger seasonal range than last year, mostly because it isn’t relying on pumpkin spice alone to carry it. The summer menu leaned hard into salads and lighter pots; autumn has swung fully back to comfort food, and that’s the right call from September onwards.

The Steak & Stilton Bake is the reason to go. It’s £2.50, it’s genuinely different from anything else on the shelf, and the black pepper crumb gives it a bit of edge. If you only try one thing, make it that.

The Bonfire Toffee Muffin is the sleeper. It’s had a fraction of the attention the bake has, but that burnt-toffee filling is more interesting than the usual seasonal sponge, and £1.65 is fair for what you get.

The Buffalo Chicken Baguette is the one I’d think twice about. At £4.10 it’s the dearest item here, and you’re paying baguette money for what’s essentially a mayo-based filling. The Buffalo Pizza Slice gets you the same flavour for £2.70 — just be aware of those 673 calories.

And the Pumpkin Spice Latte? The salted caramel drizzle is a small change, but it works: it cuts through the sweetness of the syrup rather than piling more on top. At 214 calories it’s also far less of an event than people assume. Get one in before the Festive Bake takes over the counter in November.

❓ Frequently asked questions

When did the Greggs autumn menu 2026 launch, and how long will it stay on?

The Greggs autumn menu 2026 launched on Thursday 3 September 2026, with most of the eleven new and returning items available nationwide from day one. Iced drinks are the exception — they only appear in shops fitted with an ice machine, so smaller kiosks and express units may not carry them.

Greggs has not published an end date. Based on how the chain has handled previous seasonal ranges, expect the autumn line-up to run until the Christmas menu takes over the counter space in early November, with the most popular items sometimes selling out locally well before that.

How much is the Greggs Steak and Stilton Bake and how many calories does it have?

The Steak and Stilton Bake starts from £2.50 and contains 465 calories. That £2.50 is the standard high-street price — the figure Greggs quotes as “from”.

City and central London branches typically charge around 11 to 19 per cent more, and airport, motorway and other franchise sites can add roughly a third or more, so the same bake can land nearer £2.85 in a city centre and £3.35 at a travel hub. Eating in rather than taking away adds 20 per cent VAT on top wherever you are.

Why does the Greggs autumn menu cost more at some shops than others?

Greggs runs three separate price tiers across the UK, and which one applies depends on the shop’s rent and running costs rather than the region. Standard high-street and retail-park shops carry the baseline prices Greggs quotes publicly.

City-centre and central London branches sit roughly 11 to 19 per cent above that. Franchise sites — airports, motorway services and some railway stations — are run by partners such as SSP and Moto under a separate agreement and can charge around a third more, sometimes higher. It is the same menu and the same recipe; only the location changes.

Sources & accuracy: prices and calorie figures for every autumn 2026 item come from Greggs’ launch announcement as reported independently by Grocery Gazette and Verge Magazine (both 20 August 2026), cross-checked against subsequent trade coverage in Baking & Biscuit and FoodBible. Daily calorie guidance is from the NHS. Slimming World Syn figures are unofficial community estimates derived from published calorie data, not official values. Prices shown as “from” are standard high-street takeaway prices; city, London and franchise figures are estimates based on Greggs’ known tier differentials and are marked with a tilde. Prices, calories and availability vary by branch and change without notice — always check the price board, the Greggs App or greggs.com before ordering.
