It all started in Irlam, 2017 🎉
Greggs opened their very first drive-through at Irlam Gateway Service Station in Salford, Greater Manchester in June 2017. It was a bold move — but it worked. The queues were legendary, and Greggs was immediately planning more. Today, that same Irlam location on Liverpool Road (M44 6FB) is still going strong.

One of the most common questions I get asked: “What time does the Greggs drive-thru open?” The honest answer is: it depends on the site. But here’s what we know as a general rule in 2026:
Typical Opening Time
Most drive-throughs open at 6am, making them great for grabbing breakfast on the morning commute. A small number (like Craigavon) start at 7am.
Typical Closing Time
